Jodhpur
“Its a blue feeling.”
Jodhpur is like a time capsule. There are bits and corners of this city that will transport you to a different time period. And that is a memory of Jodhpur that I shall always cherish <3

I was in Jodhpur for work. I did a tiny bit of sightseeing myself but the turning point of this trip was when I bumped into a friend of mine at work. The next hour was spent talking about how both of us are in Jodhpur for the very first time and how amazing it would be to explore the city together, the hour after that – we had detailed plans of everything we are going to do over the next 3 days. He is that kind of person. Far from being a just a tourist, he’s always game for stuff like clicking a hundred pictures to get the perfect shot, or getting up at 4 am to travel, he gets how important good food is but most importantly, he always makes sure I am safe. Very easy going and the best travel companion you could ever ask for.
So a big shoutout to the best travel companion and an amazing friend – Pitamber Yadav! I dedicate the Jodhpur – Jaisalmer blog to you <3

Now that the title sequence and dedication bit is done – lets talk more about the travel 🙂
Here’s a list of some of the must visit places in Jodhpur – this list is a bit special. Most of the times when I go check out the must visit places – they are just that – places. But in Jodhpur, each of them came with an unforgettable experience.
Mandore Garden
We did a proper photoshoot here! We were so lucky since this place was not crowded at all. And this is where I felt like a travel blogger for the first time. We explored every corner of Mandore, braving the heat and squinting eyes for more photographs, braved the stares of the park employees, excused ourselves from the many couples at this garden – the whole feel of being here was very special. You have to visit this place. It has the most incredible sculptures for you to gaze at.
Osian Temple
Now this is bit out of the city, you need to wear proper clothes if you want to get in – I slid on some pants in the back seat of our car before we went in. This Temple is a must visit. It has a otherworldly calm to it. Needless to say that the carvings of the Temple wall will leave you stumped.
Now the cute bit of this place is – when we were here, after worshipping, we decided to just sit close to the stairs for a bit before leaving – and as we sat there – every person who came out of the temple – shared his prasad with us. EACH ONE OF THEM. As an Indian – I’ve been to so many temples in this lifetime – but I never experienced this anywhere. We just sat there happily eating all the prasad that came our way 🙂
The Bluecity Walk
This is the part of the city that’s filled with blue colored house walls. It is a surreal feeling walking through these streets – but maybe hire a guide – which we didn’t!
So our walks mostly comprised of –
1. Getting lost
2. Asking for directions
3. Getting the wrong directions, not knowing for them to be wrong.
4. Getting lost as a result of fact no. 3
5. Being chased by dogs
6. Being threatened by the locals that xyz areas are restricted and if we go there we will be thrown in jail
7. Getting lost again
Oh but it was an adventure! When we reached the top – there was a pre wedding photoshoot that was in process – right at the edge of a cliff – and me and Pitamber were in awe of the courage this girl had – she was in heels! We ended up being friends with the crew of the photoshoot – turns out it was an arrange marriage, good guy – a little shy – and the girl just got her degree 😀 pretty cute couple.
Toorji Ka Jhalra Bavdi
There are a lot of cafes close to around this one. I sat in one of them admiring this place as I hogged on a bowl of Maggi after getting done with hours of shopping and walking around the city 😀 one of the best solitary evenings I got to spend in Jodhpur.

Mehrangarh Fort and Museum
We ran into a group of super judgmental all-women tour group when I was here. That is the first memory that comes to my head when I think about this place.
Apparently – my clothes were too short, also I should’ve been here with my husband and not with a guy friend, and this one aunty was bitching about with her friend – while I was two feet away from her. She said “This girl is from Mumbai. What else can you expect from city girls? I blame the parents.”
The whole episode was just plain hilarious me! If any of those women are reading this blog – Hi!! Yes, I am that girl who was wearing a knee length dress which you thought was a bit too short for your liking. Hope you are doing are great coz I am!
Now about the Fort, it is everything that the reviews claim. You cannot skip this Fort. Please listen to me – I am somebody who is in the habit of skipping the top must do thing in cities 😛 If not for the Fort itself – Go for the view! Go for the walk! Go for the cute museum gift shops. Go for the gardens! Just please go!
Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park
I loved this park! It is such a beautiful trek. You’ll love roaming around this park!! And you’ll be stumped by the views you’ll get around every corner!! <3 I really really want to go back here again 🙁
Lastly – the most important part of the blog – SHOPPING –
I just have one shopping advice to give you guys, go buy some (read:many) Mojaris from shops at Mochi Bazaar.
Pro tip – Pick one store. You’ll get a grand discount and you can even customize your footwear. I added ghunghroos to mine <3
Guilty of buying one too many 😀
