Volendam

“Sea you soon? 🙁 “

This blog is about regrets.
Why blog only about stuff that brings joy..

Volendam is a small coastal village close to Amsterdam, in Netherlands. I visited it while I was on a group tour. We spent just one hour in this tiny village. Enough to cover the most of Volendam, actually.

So, what to regret about? Even if it was enough to fully visit Volendam – regret number one – that hour wasn’t enough FOR ME!

Don’t make the same mistake I did. You definitely want to stay here longer. At least a couple of days.

Not because it is “a town that never sleeps”! Volendam sleeps, definitely. More or less at 6 p.m, actually. After that time, life is just socializing. Chill with a glass of wine on the front porch or go have a lovely dinner under the sky, close to the harbor.

Beautifully colored houses, the most intimately set up brunch and dinning places, amazing views no matter where you stand. Imagine going on walks on this coastal road every morning as you watch the sunrise! That is my kind of place.

They have amazing boutique shops selling such lovely handmade curios, that you will want to pack the whole shop and bring it home with you.

Which I did!

I don’t even have enough pictures to post here, which brings me to regret number two. 🙁

As I dream of visiting again this village soon, this is me signing off this sad blog entry and crying out for people who are reading my blog to definitely include it in their itinerary.

Today no joy, just regrets.
